The annual night after Thanksgiving Crash-A-Rama is all set for Orlando SpeedWorld this Friday night and will feature the most extensive number of events ever for one of these highly popular shows.
The evening will begin with a $1500 Enduro race open to all cars 4, 6, and 8 cylinder. Also on tap is the staple of Crash-A-Rama, the School Bus Figure 8 race that will pay $1000 to the winner.

Jimmy Sharpe Jr, an invader from Georgia, took over for a short time but mechanical problems retired him from competition. This brought B main winner Scotty Kay Jr who had made his way through the 27 car field to the point. New Smyrna Speedway had to battle Mother Nature nearly all weekend, but the skies cleared just long enough to get in the Florida Governor’s Cup 200, a race that had more twists and turns than a good pretzel with young Travis Cope leading just the final two laps to score what amounted to an improbable victory as it seemed he had everything going against him at various points.
The pit area was full even on Friday night as 38 Super Late Models signed in just to practice along with a number of support division cars. Jeff Choquette of West Palm Beach, driving the Adrian Carriers car out of Milan, IL, was fastest in two of the three sessions held for the Super Lates.
A packed house saw some of the nation’s top monster truck drivers and a unique night of racing brought Desoto Speedway’s 2014 racing season to a close Saturday night.
Former World Freestyle champion Jimmy Creton headlined the monster truck show in his Bounty Hunter ride. After a freestyle run around the track that featured crushing cars, Creton, now driving the Iron Outlaw truck scaled a tall mound of dirt placed on the front stretch and successfully landed a backflip to the delight of the large crowd in attendance.

OCALA, FL – Darrell Lanigan of Union, KY won the first Heat Race on Friday night driving the Darrell Lanigan Racing Special to earn the pole position for the $10,000-to-win 100-lap 10th Annual World Championship Race for the NeSmith Late Models on Saturday night at Bubba Raceway Park.
The top four finishers in the four 15-lap Heat Races set the “Sweet 16” starting line-up for the Big Show. Drivers that finished fifth on back in each of the heats will have another opportunity to make the World Championship Race starting line-up in one of two B-Main races to be held at Bubba Raceway Park tomorrow night.

NeSmith Racing officials have compiled a list of drivers they’ve talked to that intend to be at Bubba Raceway Park this weekend. When Augie Grill of Hayden, AL came to New Smyrna Speedway to run the Florida Governor’s Cup race in 2012, he already had an impressive resume as a driver, but his career path has been a bit different than many former winners who started racing in their teens.
Grill is the son of famed car builder Frankie Grill and has been around his dad’s shop turning wrenches and helping out since he was three years old.
